My name is Briana Sampson. I am a baby-wearing consultant and also run a very small food cottage out of our home. I’m a full time mom of one little girl (so far). I grew up in a (once smaller) town called Bend, Oregon. In any free time I can find I am either crafting, baking, or gardening. I also have a love for animals and Musicals.
Despite the pandemic, my husband Bryce and I got married in July 2020. I had gotten laid off and Bryce had started working from home earlier in the year. We were planning a trip to Spain after the wedding, but obviously ended up not being able to travel outside of the U.S.. Since COVID put a damper on our honeymoon plans we started brainstorming for a different kind of adventure. We may have gotten carried away, BUT ended up selling our home in Oregon to get a trailer and live as nomads.
Our travels lasted for just over a year before we jumped the gun on our family planning. We ended up landing in Austin, Texas to give birth to our daughter Valerie. After talking, Bryce and I decided it would be best for me to stay home and be a full time mom. The extra costs we would incur would make the extra household income minimal. The daycare alone would cost most of my additional income. Then there’s the second car payment, insurance, gas (with prices right now especially)! Plus, this way I get to be the one to take care of Valerie. (And we avoid getting sick as often by not having to use a daycare!)
Our lease was ending in March of 2023 and our rent increasing substantially. While we were starting to love Austin, we weren’t ready to find our forever home. It just has not felt like the right time to buy a house quite yet. Being far from and missing all of our family and friends we thought it might be the perfect time for another adventure. You may be thinking it is a CRAZY idea to take an almost toddler and two dogs on the road full time, but we made it work! (Though it might have indeed be a crazy idea lol.) We ended up spending the next year living month to month in Airbnb’s around the country and, for now, have now landed ourselves in Annapolis, Maryland.
We don’t know how long we’ll be here , but we’re keeping out minds open! I hope you enjoy following our little family in our life’s journey. I hope you can laugh and learn with us. In any case, here we go!
Cheers!
